Mayor Adrian Schrinner’s office confirmed later on Sunday that the city council will consider opening more venues for the match on Wednesday, including holding large-scale screenings at King George Square, opening Brisbane sports venues to tens of thousands of fans, expanding the outdoor World Cup celebration area at South Bank Parklands, and providing more venues for fans.
